Be kind. Work hard. Lift up.

Pat Smith is a Toronto born writer/producer focused on telling stories that make a difference. Whether it be drama, sci-fi, comedy or a mixture of the three, Pat's work strives to give voice to sociological issues that deserve greater attention, compassion and empathy; seamlessly raising awareness through compelling entertainment.

Passionate about employing his degree in Sociology from the University of British Colombia, Pat's early social commentary came in the form of satire while performing in various casts at The Second City in Toronto. After years on this stage, Pat was accepted into the Canadian Film Centre where his fervor for darker, more pointed narratives grew, thrusting him into the one-hour scripted space. This is largely where Pat writes and creates from today.

Pat's most recent productions include the Netflix Original series, Travelers, a time traveling drama which tackles the  unsustainable state of humanity and the evolution of human consciousness; and, the Lifetime/Global series, Mary Kills People, a dark procedural drama that takes on the many challenges surrounding assisted suicide in modern day America.

Pat now splits his time between Toronto and Los Angeles, living his best queer life, writing and producing evocative content for global audiences.
